HSBC Basic Checking – Basic Banking Account Fees

HSBC offers a wide range of services, low account fees, and do not require a minimum deposit when opening an account. The Basic Checking is a great way to try out a new bank. 

HSBC PREMIER

  • $50 monthly maintenance fee is waived if minimum balance requirements are met

  • To qualify for an HSBC Premier relationship, you need to open an HSBC Premier checking account and maintain $100,000 in combined U.S. personal deposit and investment* balances. Business owners may use their commercial balances to qualify for a personal HSBC Premier relationship. A monthly maintenance fee of $50 will be incurred if minimum balance requirements are not maintained.

 

HSBC ADVANCE

  • $25 monthly maintenance fee is waived if minimum balance requirements are met

 

CHOICE CHECKING

  • $15 monthly maintenance fee waived if you maintain direct deposit OR if minimum balance requirements are met

 

BASIC BANKING

  • $3 monthly maintenance fee, no balance requirement

 

 

1 To qualify for an HSBC Premier relationship, you need to open an HSBC Premier checking account and maintain balances of $100,000 in combined U.S. Dollar personal deposit accounts and investment* balances. Business owners may use their qualifying HSBC U.S. Dollar commercial balances to qualify for a personal Premier relationship. A monthly maintenance fee of $50 will be incurred if minimum balance requirements are not maintained.

2 You may be charged additional fees by the ATM operator or network used including a fee by another HSBC entity operating ATMs outside the U.S. Foreign currency conversion rates may still apply.

3 Global View and Global Transfers are only available for HSBC Premier and HSBC Advance clients and are not available in all countries. Foreign currency exchange rates and local country limitations may apply. Transfers from HSBC accounts from outside the U.S. may be subject to transfer fees. Personal Internet Banking is required to access Global View and Global Transfers. Access to U.S. Personal Internet Banking through Global View from outside the U.S. may be limited.

4 To qualify for an HSBC Advance relationship, you need to open an HSBC Advance checking account and maintain combined balances in  U.S. Dollar personal deposit accounts and investment* balances of at least $10,000 OR of at least $5,000 with a recurring direct deposit from a third party to an HSBC Advance checking account at least once per calendar month. Business owners may use their qualifying HSBC U.S. Dollar commercial balances to qualify for a personal HSBC Advance relationship. A monthly maintenance fee of $25 will be incurred if minimum balance or minimum balance with direct deposit requirement is not met.

5 If Direct Deposit ceases, a $15 monthly maintenance fee will apply if balance requirements are not met. Qualifying Direct Deposits are electronic deposits of regular periodic payments made into your Choice Checking account through 3rd parties at least once per calendar month. To avoid a monthly $15 maintenance fee for Choice Checking, you need to maintain Direct Deposit or $1,500 in total combined balances in U.S. Dollar personal deposit accounts and investment* balances.

6 There is no charge for the first eight checks/withdrawal slips you write, then you will be charged $ .35 per check or withdrawal.
