Bank of the West charges $10 for their basic checking account. To avoid the fee all you have to do is make a deposit to your account once a month. Deposits include direct deposit, mobile deposit, ATM deposit or in branch deposit of any amount. Does not include fund transfers between Bank of the West accounts or any credits from Bank of the West.

Bank of the West publicly discloses that they will refund one fee $36 or under once every rolling 12 month period. While most banks are willing to do this, Bank of the West is one of the first to offer this as an option to their clients.

They do not charge an overdraft fee if the account is drawn $5 or less in the negative.

Non-Bank of the West ATM Fees $2.50 for each withdrawal, transfer, and balance inquiry conducted at a non-Bank of the West ATM. The ATM owner may charge you additional fees.

No more than five (5) Overdraft and/or Returned Item Fees will be charged on any Business Day per Account
